Labyrinth Walk at Polhawn Fort

Sound Healing Practitioner Teresa Wicksteed has long been fascinated by the sacred geometry of the labyrinth, a powerful symbol that combines two timeless forms: the circle and the spiral.

For more than a decade, Teresa has offered one-to-one sound healing sessions in her yurt, alongside leading immersive sound baths for a wide range of groups, including women’s circles, community organisations, and neurodivergent adults.

Now, Teresa has brought these two passions together to create the Labyrinth Sound Bath - an immersive and deeply restorative experience centred around a unique, specially commissioned canvas labyrinth, perfectly suited to the atmosphere of Polhawn Fort.

Teresa explains:

“Unlike a maze, which is designed to confuse, a labyrinth follows a single path to the centre and back again - a symbolic journey to the inner self, and then outward into the world.”

Using carefully selected healing sounds to deepen the experience of the walk, Teresa intuitively chooses instruments according to the unique energy of each participant. These may include singing bowls, tuning forks, rattles, and other therapeutic instruments. Equally important is the silence between the sounds, creating space for stillness, reflection, and profound contemplation.

Testimonial

“Taking a walk in the Labyrinth was a truly magical experience. I just let myself be guided and felt very cared for as I walked, supported by Teresa’s sounding bowls. Arriving at the centre, after the journey in, was very powerful for me, I felt safe in there and didn’t want to leave. I felt like I was in a nest. Walking out, I had all sorts of feelings and thoughts.”
