Testimonials

"I thoroughly recommend foraging the Salt Path with Vix of Wild Edges from Polhawn Fort up to Rame Head and back.  This walk has been the highlight of my year - I returned feeling inspired.

The views from Polhawn are simply breath-taking, and as you walk along the South West Coast Path you catch glimpses of the crystal blue waters of Whitsand bay.  It was relaxing and as anyone who has experienced a foraging walk with Vix will know, you can't help returning inspired, as her knowledge of all things plant is contagious.  We shared several group experiences with plants and I enjoyed learning about the varied and interesting selection of delicious edible plants - some we collected along the way.  On returning back to the Fort we helped prep food with some of the plants we collectively gathered, further embedding this new / knowledge. Vix then prepared the most exquisite and delectable gourmet feast which we enjoyed while seated as guests on the beautiful lawns of Polhawn Fort, taking in the views.  I'm inspired to experiment with the plants we were introduced to, especially because the food really was remarkable. Particularly Vix's ox-eye daisy capers; and pickled seaweed with cabbage.

This experience is one to repeat, and I was interested to learn Polhawn Fort also offer a variety of other experiences, from yoga retreats to an outdoor wood fired sauna."

"We walked from Polhawn Fort along the path described as the Salt Path.  Along the way, Vix from WildEdge showed us some plants which we could forage and we collected them on our return to the Fort.  The Fort is the most amazing setting. The mature gardens lined with large granite rocks are reminiscent of the Eden Project. The round table with colourful cushions and immaculate place settings was set for our return. All eight of us sat in the sun, admiring the setting and the spectacular views. We were then served our foraged food accompanied by pre-prepared food made by Vix. It was a culinary delight which would not look out of place in a top restaurant.

The Salt Path had stunning views and photo opportunities. The variety and taste of the plants, were extraordinary. Vix's knowledge of the plants, their health benefits and the way to prepare them was so interesting, we were all captivated by the experience.  Highly recommend this foraging experience in the most amazing setting of the Fort and the Salt Path."
