In July 2025, we were proud to welcome Charlotte Roy to The Fort, a standout holistic vegan chef who brings together her love of food, her expertise in nutrition, and her background in psychotherapy to create truly meaningful dining experiences.

Charlotte made history as the first vegan chef to reach the quarter-finals of MasterChef UK in 2024. Since then, she has continued to develop her distinctive approach to cooking, one that’s not just about flavour, but about how food supports our overall wellbeing.

Her background as a qualified psychotherapist gives her a unique perspective on the connection between what we eat and how we feel. For Charlotte, food is a tool for nourishment, connection, and care, a way to bring people together and create space for reflection, laughter, and joy.

She believes that food has the power to stir up memories, evoke nostalgia, and even bring out the child in us, reminding us of who we are and where we’ve come from. Her meals are designed not just to support the body, but to tap into something deeper: a sense of comfort, emotion, and shared human experience
