A Right Royal Wedding

With the upcoming Royal wedding just around the corner we delve into some of the speculated thoughts and choices of the future Royal couple on their wedding day. From the flowers and food right the way through to the entertainment and reception.

Location, location, location!

As a newly engaged couple , this will be the the first and biggest decision you will make together.

Cornwall has long been a favourite destination for royal visitors and at Polhawn fort we certainly tick a lot of boxes and can most definitely execute the perfect quintessential English wedding.

If like Harry & Meghan you have hopes for a more private wedding day away from the public eye, Polhawn Fort stands alone, quite literally! Nestled in the West countryside Polhawn Fort will be exclusive yours throughout your stay.

It doesn’t get much more romantic than tying the knot in our Summerhouse. Sweeping landscaped lawns and the shimmering sea below, coastline stretching into the distance.
There is a set of steps leading from the Fort directly down to our very own beach where you can steal a little private time together.

“Endlessly happy”

Royal wedding flowers will reportedly include floral displays made out white garden roses, foxgloves, and peonies, because they make the bride “endlessly happy”, it has been revealed.

Pink peonies are becoming a popular choice for weddings because the colour symbolises romance and beauty. However, royal wedding bouquets are traditionally white. So don’t expect anything to exotic in Meghan’s bouquet!

The Wedding Breakfast

In keeping with royal wedding tradition, the newly married couple will be expected to host a wedding breakfast immediately following the ceremony, typically a British menu will include a seafood hors d’oeuvre, a meat-based main dish, and a dessert. It has been speculated that the couple is trusting in well respected caterer called Table Talk who are known for their innovative menus, and already have a relationship with the Royal family after being called upon for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge lavish 2011 wedding.

One great thing about Polhawn Fort is that it allows you to go in any direction you want when choosing your perfect caterers. Fancy a rustic, quirky approach or a more full-on, fine dining, silver service affair? Whatever you feel fits your style, tastes or budget you can rest assure that all is possible and getting there is not as overwhelming as you first may think. Following the service, there will be a reception at St. George’s Hall for the couple and guests of the congregation. The couple will then hold a second, more exclusive reception just for Harry and Meghan’s close family and friends.

You too can extend the celebrations at Polhawn Fort we are fully equipped with a professional disco sound and lights system, logs for the open fire, Croquet, Smite & Jenga! Tennis racquets/balls, barbeque equipment and not forgetting…

It’s all yours for the weekend, mid-week or split mid week stay!
