Our beds can be juggled around to make the ideal combination for your guests, additional cots, linen and even mattresses for children are also available. Beds are top-of-the range luxury Vi-Spring beds with double pocketed spring matresses. We can sleep up to twenty adults.
Your choice! You can organise all your own catering or we can recommend a range of local caterers who will also be happy to help you plan the menus and give you quotes. The style of catering is entirely up to you: a formal banquet, informal buffet, barbeque, hog roast etc. You can have your reception in the Fort itself, outside in the garden or in a marquee. We are limited to seating up to 120 people.
The Fort has full central heating with individually controlled radiators; there is a large open fire and logs are supplied for cosy winter evenings. There is air conditioning in the Grand Hall.
Although the Fort has a full entertainments and drinks licence, we have never charged corkage. This means you (and your guests) can supply lovely wines and other drinks purchased from wherever you wish, at the least possible cost: a tremendous saving! A pay bar can easily be arranged if required.
The Fort has 8ft thick walls: you can have a disco (with equipment supplied by ourselves or others) and/or bands inside the Fort. Outside it is different: because we are in an area of great peace and tranquillity our licence does not allow us to permit amplified music or instruments (ie requiring electricity) outside. A number of acoustic instruments (non-electrical) are permitted and we love to hear these: please ask us for suggestions.
Virtually on any Friday or Monday between 1 pm and 3 pm. The cleaners generally finish at about 1.30 pm and everything from then on is just as we provide it to our customers. Please ring us to make an appointment.
